YES

“You are the God who is simple, direct, clear with us and for us.
You have comitted yourself to us.
You have said yes to us in creation
yes to us in our birth,
yes to us in our baptism,
yes to us in our awakening this day.

But we are of another kind,
more accoustomed to ‘’perhaps, maybe, we’ll see,’’
left in wonderment and ambiguity.

We live our lives not back to your yes ,
but out of our endless ‘’perhaps.’’

So we pray for your mercy this day that we may live yes back to you,
yes with our time,
yes with our money,
yes with our sexuality,
yes with our strength and with our weakness,
yes to our neighbor,
yes and no longer ‘’perhaps.’’

In the name of your enfleshed yes to us,
even Jesus who is our yes into your future. Amen."

CHRISTMAS AT KNOX-IMAGE

CHRISTMAS TREE RECYCLING

JANUARY 7 FROM 9:00 AM TO 4:00 PM
Bring your Christmas tree to John Knox for recycling. Boy Scout Troop 392 will chip it and turn it into mulch that JKPC gets to keep for landscaping. Christmas tree recycling is an excellent way to help the scouts, the environment, and John Knox. The event is a fundraiser. If you’d like to support the Scouts, checks can be made out to Troop 392. Please take all the decorations off your tree: no flocked trees, no tinsel, and no nails. Thanks so much for supporting the Boy Scouts.

WELCOME BRUNCH

ARE YOU NEW OR LOOKING FOR A WAY TO CONNECT?
On January 29, 2017, at 11:30 AM, we are having a brunch to welcome all those who are relatively new to JKPC, or those who want to deepen their connections at JKPC. This event is hosted by our JK Connections Team. If you would like more information or would like to attend, please e-mail Pastor Jon at jon@jkpcusa.org.

As we set out on this beautiful New Year together, please pray for the students as they begin a new school year, learning and flourishing under the nurturing care of African professionals committed to imparting faith-based principles to children in the most important time of life: the formative years from preschool to university.  Also, pray for the JK Mission Team that will visit the school February 8-22.  (Commissioning on Sunday, February 5.)
